The CO-OP Liquor stores have a great selection of beer and wine with a very helpful ratings system to help with choice and info on trying new brands and flavours. There is also a fair amount of local brews to try and the staff is very helpful and familiar with their selection. I was pleasantly surprised when I first went into this store and it is now one of my go-to places for beer and wine. Give them a visit and see what they have for you.
