Great place for Korean fried chicken! The chicken is juicy and not greasy tasting, so crunchy! Servings are generous and their menu has many offerings, not just fried chicken. The staff are friendly and service was pretty quick. Well come back. Great job, guys!
I think one of the best fried chicken places in Calgary! There are currently alot of fried chicken joints in the city, but this one is definitely a place to check out. Super nice and friendly staff that acknowledge their regulars like they are family. It's awesome to see. Their chicken is super crispy; I would recommend the soy garlic or the hot soy garlic if you like the spice.
Ogam is known to locals for their delicious chicken! They have great hospitality and their other foods in the menu are pretty delicious. I especially love their spicy pork broth which usually comes with 2-3 heaping pieces of pork bone, if you take the time to pick out the meat it's definitely worth the work, either eating it together with your soup or rice it has more a savoury profile. They also have excellent customer service and have recently added in "skip the dishes". But if soup is not your thing, stick to their chicken, you can never go wrong. They are perfectly breaded and deep fried with some of the tastiest flavors you can choose from like creamy garlic it will put KFC to shame. Their chicken is also really juicy.
Great service! We enjoyed the crispy chicken dinner a lot on a Wednesday early night. Because there were 9 of us, we were sitting at the corner and it was a bit quieter. We were lucky to get seated by 6pm as it started to be quite busy by 7pm. Food was great and the hospitality was especially helpful. We bought an ice cream cake for my moms birthday. The waitress said it was the first time customers did that. Interesting. We were worried that the shop might not allow us to have the birthday cake there, but she was very nice and offered us plates and forks and a knife with a smile. We enjoyed our dinner there.
I would say this is the best fried chicken I've had in my life. I typically order the soy garlic chicken and katsu chicken, and both are exceptional. Even things like their fries and their onion rings are pretty good. I wouldn't reccomend coming here on your own, it's much better to come with a few people and share a bunch of stuff, perhaps order one of the family packs, so that you can get a taste of all of it. A little pricey, but still, totally worth it for the exceptional quality. Staff is typically friendly and helpful, but it's more of a fast food style of restaurant, so don't expect over the moon service, its still efficient and polite though. Overall, amazing food at a sadly still mostly undiscovered gem. I just hope they are soon appreciated as much as they deserve to be.
