Wonderful place to workout with great equipment and awesome pools. Friendly and helpful staff and the group classes are fun. Spin and box is the best!! Place is clean and always have fun promotions. I enjoy going there and the point system for swag makes it even more motivational. Happy to be a member. Good family pricing.
One of Calgary's best facilities. Has 5 full gyms, dive tank, two full size swimming pools, hot tubs, cold tubs, yoga studio, workout area and gym facilities and more. Fitness classes are also great. Really good for the cost of membership.
I was in need of applying for a Low-Income pass for any participating Leisure Center in Calgary, and the staff at the Repsol Center were all extremely helpful and knowledgeable of showing me the process. Once I had everything done, going to get the year pass from them was no a difficult process at all.I'm not someone who is very gym-savvy, but I have made a resolve to visit at least three times a week now, for my better health. Because of this- I know nothing. It may come off as odd/irritating/intimidating to see all of the staff (mid 20's - 30's) sitting by their desks and socializing, cluttering, sometimes- but honestly- once you approach them, they create a very relaxed atmosphere, and they're always super willing to help you with anything and even teach you how to use particular pieces of equipment.I love it here!
I train in the pool. Some might find it cold... but the hot tub stays pretty warm and there is also a cold therapy tub. Pretty good except for after a synchro meet and you have to dodge gelatin in the pool for a week. The can get pretty slick. There are sometimes admission deals that can cut down on the cost. The last hour is cheap if you're looking to save money. Be careful some weekends because parking can get full when there is a swim meet on.
I bought a yearly membership at Repsol from mid-2016 to mid-2017. My main use was the gym (which was OK) with some swimming for cardio also (also OK). The men's locker room was a nightmare. Small kids running everywhere (even well after 9:00 PM as I was there later at night), I understood that there were security issues, and there must have been as much water in the locker room as there was in the pool (not fun). Trying to get any type of answer on their "executive" locker rooms (availability) was an exercise in futility (gave up after asking at the desk multiple times and sending emails to the person that supposedly looks after that). I'm in the market for another yearly membership due to a work move and having to cancel an excellent membership downtown at a respected club, and thought I'd look at Repsol again. After reading the reviews, it doesn't look like much has changed or improved. It is a big, diverse, family friendly facility, but if you're looking, as an adult to "train, work out and get in shape" it looks like it's still a place to avoid. Thanks to others for posting and saving me some $!
